MANCHESTER, England -- Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has been ruled out of Saturdays Premier League game against Newcastle with a toe injury, and is doubtful for the Champions League return leg against Bayern Munich next week. United manager David Moyes told the clubs in-house TV station that Rooney has "a badly bruised toe," adding that "not only is it a problem for this (Newcastle) game, it could be a problem for the Munich match."
