CHICAGO -- A person familiar with the situation says the Chicago Cubs have interviewed San Diego Padres bench coach Rick Renteria for their managers job. The person, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the confidential nature of the search, confirmed reports by several media outlets. The interview took place in Southern California on Monday. The person also said the Cubs will interview Tampa Bay bench coach Dave Martinez this week. Chicago fired Dale Sveum after going 127-197 the past two seasons while hoping to develop young players. Renteria is known for his teaching ability and has managed in San Diegos and Miamis minor league systems. Martinez has spent the past six seasons as the Rays bench coach and could be a good fit with Cubs management because Tampa Bay relies heavily on statistical analysis. Cyber Monday Yeezy .
